This past sunday at my wonderful church (Church Under The Bridge), I had the best Thanksgiving of my life. It was one of those moments that you never want to forget how you feel.

After church, all 300 CUBers* went to a neighborhood church and they served us an amazing Thanksgiving.

But, what was so beautiful about the Thanksgiving meal was not the freshly, homemade stuffing, it was not the amazing brewed tea, it was not even the warm pecan pie...no, what made this Thanksgiving beautiful was the people.

There were two groups of people intermixing and interacting with joy and thanksgiving:

1.) Those serving us from the neighbor hood church. These are the suburban, put-together Christians who are opening up there church to the homeless, under-income, and working poor. The workers were so incredible. They had a sense of sincere joy that was contagious.

2.) And, then there were the CUBers. Now, we CUBers (as the stereotype on Baylor's campus goes) are a very rag-tag diverse group. White... Black... Educating on the streets... Educated in the universities... Young... Old... Homeless... Mexican... Handicapped...

                                Diverse... Real... Beautiful.

We sat in the Friendship Hall at the local church enjoying laughs, company, good food, and smiles. It was so real and it was so incredible.

My amazing roommates (Ally and Anna) and I left the lunch with such a joy. It was a beautiful day. It was my best Thanksgiving ever.
